Andrew Duggan joins Studio Outside after working for 13 years at MESA. Passionate about the outdoors, Andrew’s projects seek to provide visitors with engaging experiences in both natural and developed landscapes. His familiarity with the public process and the importance of accountability to the community is an asset on all scales of site planning and design. He is comfortable in navigating the requirements of government funded projects, a skill easily adapted to jobs in the private sector. Andrew‘s projects focus on interpretive and educational experiences, carefully maintaining the project vision while monitoring budgets and programming constraints.
Andrew’s Texas project experience while at MESA included Allaso Ranch Youth Camp, Dogwood Canyon Audubon Center, and the Irving Veterans Memorial. Muskoseepi Park, a 1,000-acre urban park in northern Alberta, Canada, was also a highlight of his efforts there. He is currently managing Cypress Waters as well as our collaborative team’s efforts in the post-Hurricane-Ike master planning and redevelopment for Galveston Island State Park. Additional experience includes a depth of planning and design for youth camps, community development, and various public park and recreation projects.
When not at the office, Andrew enjoys building mission-style furniture and raising four young children. Some of his service work has included serving as co-chair of the All Saints Master Planning Committee and the Heights Park Public Task Force in Richardson where he lives. Andrew is a graduate of Louisiana State University.
