Girl Scouts of the USA symposium

Studio Outside, partnered with the Girl Scouts of the USA national office, facilitated a multi-day symposium brought together a group of 65 stakeholders and outside experts including Girl Scout leadership, similar mission-based agencies, program specialists, architects, economists, and others. The event was facilitated help the Girl Scout organization to look beyond council boundaries and think strategically about how properties work together as a system to deliver relevant, girl focused programming. Dialogue centered around big ideas to inspire a broad mindset of opportunity when considering Girl Scout diverse property portfolio, existing programs, and strategic direction. Utilizing facilities in traditional and non-traditional ways, the goal was to reimagine all types of sites in the portfolio, such as urban service centers, camps, headquarters, and vacant lands to ensure financial sustainability and strengthen programming. The symposium concluded with a prioritized array of high-level opportunities organized by impact, timing, feasibility, and compatibility with critical partners. Additional symposiums are planned for the Girl Scouts in other target regions of the country.
