Tarrant County College District East Campus
Fort Worth, Texas
This detailed design study of the urban-setting campus includes a plaza/park entrance offering site accessibility while creating opportunities for visitors to descend via stairs, ramps, or elevator to the lower-level main pedestrian axis of the campus. The landscape architects were tasked with the detailed integration of hardscape and landscape within the small but complex group of buildings that offer virtually no right angles, while also incorporating a massive, elegantly detailed fountain and two-story waterfall along the main pedestrian axis. The public spaces and landscape serve as the primary organizational device and provide the framework for this prestigious campus' public image within Fort Worth and the region.
