TUDOR Garden
Dallas, Texas

Nestled in the University West neighborhood of Fort Worth, this 1930’s Tudor pays homage to the Jekyll and Lutyens era of English gardens. The modest woodland plant palette in the front yard grounds two existing Oak and Maple trees, creating a frame around the Tudor’s false half-timber and stone façade. A small flagstone path weaving through ferns and hydrangeas, leads visitors to an old iron gate before entering the backyard’s English style garden.

The garden’s design, with expansive views overlooking downtown Fort Worth, focuses on a long lawn terrace flanked by large existing oaks, lush native perennial borders, and new stone paths that lead guests to a small flagstone patio and outdoor fireplace before stepping down to the newly remodeled pool and spa. With blue hues of detailed tile and ornate lion head scuppers, all the original water features on site have been a given new life, while reflecting the original design of this stately Tudor.
