Dry Creek Lodge
Carrollton, Texas

Dry Creek Lodge, the central leasing facility and amenity center for Austin Ranch, is built over a dry creek bed. It is sited to preserve native trees, and aligned with the creek and a clearing to minimize site disturbance. The landscape is dynamic and its grade changes prompted designs for elevated walkways near tree canopies with overhead views of three creeks and a manmade pond. Amenities include two swimming pools, a spa, volleyball court, and short trails through nearby native woodland where pedestrian bridges allow direct access to buildings. In conjunction with Dry Creek Lodge, the landscape architect designed a Village Green that preserves existing trees while making room for outdoor gathering and community events. Experience of Tary Arterburn and award received while at mesa.
