Fort Worth Botanic Garden
Fort Worth, Texas

The Fort Worth Botanic Garden, the oldest botanic garden in Texas, is a 120-acre garden located in the heart of the Fort Worth Cultural District. The Garden is currently working with Studio Outside and Bennett Partners to develop a campus master plan for the future of this treasured city institution for both local and international visitors. The master planning process works closely with the Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT) to integrate the design of the new BRIT site into the fabric and flow of the existing garden. Several recent public engagement meetings led by Studio Outside will reveal the community’s needs and desires for the future of the garden.

In addition to new gardens and event facilities, a strong component of the planning process is revealing the watercourses throughout the site and suggesting improvements for expanded access to water as an amenity and landmark. The parking lot will be revitalized for additional capacity while also adding a full system of bioswales to capture and cleanse runoff and teach about stormwater management and stewardship.
