One Arts Plaza anchors the eastern axis of the Dallas Arts District. This high profile architectural landmark is within walking distance from the Nasher Sculpture Center, the Windspear Opera House, Dallas Museum of Art, and Myerson Symphony Hall. Such high-profile neighbors required a design restraint to integrate this significant new structure into the existing urban design fabric. The district hosts numerous annual events, while also supporting a complex daily street life that includes a school for performing arts and a historic church. 

The twenty-four story modernist building is the first of three in a planned mixed use development. Home to 7-Eleven’s international headquarters, five floors of condominiums, office space, and 50,000 square feet of retail, One Arts Plaza is a hub of activity throughout the week. The design team collaborated with Morrison Seifert Murphy and Corgan Architects to develop building placement for all phases. Studio Outside team members were directly responsible for the concept and design of the central court and all pedestrian streetscape areas.

The half-acre arrival plaza is graced with an interactive fountain and art installation of basalt logs and glass. Refined paving patterns and groves of ginko trees integrate building forms with pedestrian spaces. This meticulously designed court offers flexibility for special events while creating a dynamic outdoor experience for residents, office workers, and the public.
